To pay of or not to pay off?
With the increase in countries officially declaring a recession (waiting for Trinidad and Tobago government to declare ours). Many of us like Malicious Jade would like to pay for our entire costume before the year's end. I personally was never in the habit of paying off my costume in advance, because of my own fear that something may happen and I would get my costume sold faster at down payment price than full price. But this year I've found myself thinking about paying of my costume, however I know I can't make end of the year so I am going for the end of January! Fair enough right?
So for those of you who can't decide I am going to give you the benefit of paying off and the benefit of not paying off your costume balance.
Paying your balance:-
So this year I am playing it safe and paying for my costume when I can, Because you never know what can happen. And instead of paying the whole lump some how about maybe breaking up your balance and paying part of it. So you have a balance of $2500 pay $500 each week, that way, its not too much of a strain.
So for those of you who can't decide I am going to give you the benefit of paying off and the benefit of not paying off your costume balance.
Paying your balance:-
- You are free to spend or budget your money after knowing that you don't have to save some aside to finish paying for your costume!
- Easy collection; while others stand in line your are zooming to costume collection and out the door !
- So It's coming nearer to carnival and you fracture your ankle, or an old injury crops back up...now you have to sell your costume, It's easy for it to get sold at deposit price than full price! And if you don't get it sold you will not feel the burn of that $3000+ gone down the drain!
So this year I am playing it safe and paying for my costume when I can, Because you never know what can happen. And instead of paying the whole lump some how about maybe breaking up your balance and paying part of it. So you have a balance of $2500 pay $500 each week, that way, its not too much of a strain.

If Dream Team can do it So can others...
So I was looking at Dream Team's 2009 Presentation One. Which I must say is not bad at all considering Dream Team's work in the past 2 years. I was going through their package detail. And there it was something that startled me!
You know how many things could happen between home and town on Tuesday. Especially for you ppl who like to wear your costume on monday! This is great! I think this is the most innovative idea I've seen offered in any band's all inclusive package and I hope many other bands take a step foward in this direction!
adjustment centre at starting point (Tuesday morning only)

Bra, Breasts and Wardrobe malfunctions
Ladies, every year our eyes glitter and sparkle at the hottest costume, not taking into consideration factors such as if the costume will be flattering, if that type of bra is right for me, will it offer support?
We go out onto the road looking nice and crisp in the morning. But truth and in fact some of us, don't look our best. After looking at some pics form Miami Carnival I had to do a post after seeing this one picture
So when it comes to bras lets give some tips here

So when it comes to bras lets give some tips here
- do not buy a bra smaller than your actual size, no it won't make your breast look like the bossom of a goddess.(exhibit a above)
- if your bra strap is laking of support, perhaps think about turning it into a halter (like above)
- If you are wearing a strapless bra, please either:- 1. put pasties over your nipple in case of any slippage or 2. avoid slippage altogether and where clear straps or matching bra straps
- if you must wear a bra underneath your bra please make sure it is the same colour!!!!!!

UWI Freshers Fete/ Kaotic' Secret Band Launching
I'm not really on the incognito thing, so yes this is me.lol
So Friday night I decided to take the opportunity and see UWI night life and mix with my fellow freshers in the the Guild's Freshers fete. So I arrived about 11pm and things were looking bleak! The fete was looking lil buss, Don't mind there were nice give aways and all from the AXE girls, DOVE(wth their tatoos) and BMOBILE with their glowing foam sticks!
The event was advertised as free drinks. Those free drinks included, Coke, Sprite, Green Sand, White Oak, Black Label and Heineken....A Think it had juice....so yuh know it was looking even more bleak! So ah say well the only way ah go enjoy myself in this fete is to take twodrink. So i hit up a glass of Heineken first, I gobbled that down and proceeded back to the bar to geta rum and coke. So the huzzy and I take one and I start to drink, but I find I feelin wierd after I take meh drink. Never in my life have I gotten drunk or anywhere NEAR it! So you can imagine my cnern when I starting seeing things swaying before me and I began to feel as though all my energy was sucked out of me. We go get back to this story in a while
So about 1 o'clock I think what do you know, the DJ announced Kaotic BandLaunch. Most people in the crowd are now saying Band Launch? what band launch?
So the costumes do ake there way out, but I couldn't get pics cuz the huzzy's friend had my camera...STEUPSSSS. The models moved quickly but still gave enough time for you to wow over the costumes, I must say that their costumess are beautiful! OMG they are georgous. I honestly think that some other new bands ****cough*** Spice ***cough*** needs to go to people partys and show their costume because I can tell you it worked! There was a huge resonse of, "OHHs!" "Ahhss!" and the "I going and play with them yes!"
So back to the Alcohol sotry, to cut the long story short, I had gotten drugged basically, but because I was smart enought to stop drinking, it didn't get me too bad, but for my other friend it triggered off her epelepsy(that she never knew she had) and she had 3 ceisures in the morning
and ended up in hospital good news is she's fine now.

Spice Speaks on the Bra Issue
Wednesday, September 3, 2008
Dear Spice
Dear Spice Committee,
I am going to keep this short and sweet! It has come to my attention that your band is refusing people to play with you due to their bra size . It was believed that one potential masquerader sporting a 44DDD,was turned down because your band appearantly does not produce that size, you would not even let the potential masquerader give your band a bra to decorate for her along with additional payment. As you are a new band, we as your current and potential masqueraders would expect to see certain hiccups along the way, but certainly not any of this calibre .
In most bands if not all; they accommodate the plus size women, allowing them to bring in their own bras or supplying bras of their size or alternative options like corsets to suit their size. In your case you've taken this stupid approach being completely ignorant towards these well endowed females. The case stated above has not been the only case I've heard of, another female, not as well endowed as the other, a simple 36C was told she couldn't get a Scotch Bonnet Frontline costume via on-line registration and was registered via telephone and payments made through Western Union.
Many persons (including myself) were routing for you as a new band and had great expectations of your band, you began with excellent customer service. What happened? I would be grateful to see you reply to this email and clear the air, because the mere fact that bra sizes on frontline costumes only range in 32,34 and 36B is not helping your case either.
Patiently awaiting your reply,
Regards,
Disturbed masquerader
